The Best Safelists for May 2012

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Welcome to May!

It’s the first of the month and that means it’s time to dig out my marketing stats from last month and see which safelists and viral list builders are currently bringing me the best results.

But first… here’s what happened last month.

I finally got List Outbreak working!  List Outbreak is a new old-school style viral list builder from Mike Purvis that requires you to get 2 referrals before you can use the mailer.  I promoted List Outbreak briefly when it first launched but it seems there was a problem with my account that was preventing my referrals from being recorded.  I never mentioned List Outbreak here because I didn’t want to recommend something I have not used.  Once we fixed what was wrong with my account Jared Silver and Winnie Peric were kind enough to join under me and unlock my mailer.  Now that I can see the “viral” aspect of List Outbreak in action I can really see the potential of this unique mailer.  List Outbreak debuts low on my rankings list this month but I hope to see my results continue to increase as my downline grows.

Easily the biggest news from last month is the launch of Matthew Graves’s TopTierMailer.  You can read my full review here: read review

I admit I didn’t join TopTierMailer right away.  The site is running on a unique script and there were some early bugs that needed to be worked out.  It’s still not 100% but it’s getting there.  I started using TopTierMailer less than 2 weeks ago and it has already secured a top spot in my rankings right next to the sites I have been using all month.  With now over 3,700 members and new members pouring in every day TopTierMailer is definitely the place to be right now.

That’s what’s happening… now let’s get to the stats!

Here’s how it works.  Every day I use 30-40 different safelists and viral list builders to promote squeeze pages that give away free copies of my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics.  I track all of my emails using a free link tracker to see how often my emails are read as well as how many new subscribers I receive to my list.  I then share those stats here on my blog each month to show you which safelists and viral list builders are bringing me the best results.

I think it is important to point out that I do have upgraded memberships at most of these sites which often gives me the ability to send my ads more often than free members.  My ads are also very targeted to other safelist members which does help to increase my response rate.  Your results my vary.

Ready? Here we go…

Hits Unique Signups Ratio
Your EZ List 1051 63.00% 23 2.19%
Viral List Builder Plus 1482 50.00% 18 1.21%
List Bonus 2366 69.00% 17 0.72%
TopTierMailer 1018 76.00% 12 1.18%
List Adventure 1334 57.00% 8 0.60%
Ultimate List Generator 256 64.00% 8 3.13%
Instant List Empire 551 52.00% 7 1.27%
List Surfing 1054 79.00% 7 0.66%
Email-Hog 1438 73.00% 7 0.49%
EZ Profit List 445 58.00% 7 1.57%
State of the Art Mailer 2874 70.00% 6 0.21%
Genie Mailer 847 44.00% 6 0.71%
Adsolutionline 2105 39.00% 5 0.24%
List Outbreak 519 65.00% 5 0.96%
List Effects 221 63.00% 4 1.81%

Your EZ List continues to kick butt and I can’t figure out why.  The site is about as plain as it gets but the members appear to be extremely active.  I don’t know if it will be at the top of the list forever but for now Your EZ List is highly recommended.

I mentioned last month that I had been using List Bonus without the added benefits of an upgraded member.  Now that I am upgraded List Bonus is once again performing like one of the best mailers as I always believed it was.  Very happy to be back.

And look at TopTierMailer!  As I mentioned earlier I have only been using the mailer for less than 2 weeks.  I will be surprised if TopTierMailer is not at the very top of the list next month.

That’s all for this month.  Don’t forget that these stats are the result of my own personal marketing efforts.  I provide these stats only to show what is currently working best for me.  What works best for you might be something entirely different but you will never know unless you are tracking your ads.  You can get the same free link tracker that I use from TE Toolbox.

Safelist Review – TopTierMailer

Author: Jerry Iannucci

TopTierMailer is the new viral list builder from Matthew Graves who is the creator of such popular traffic exchanges as WebBizInsider and TopTierTraffic.

TopTierMailer launched quietly on April 5, 2012.  I understand there were no JV partners for this launch but word has spread quickly.  It’s now 2 weeks later and TopTierMailer is fast approaching 3,000 members.

TopTierMailer is running on a similar version of the script used to run TopTierTraffic.  If you are a member of TopTierTraffic you will feel right at home here.  Because this is a unique script TopTierMailer offers some cool features not seen on any other safelist.

One of the first things you will notice is that TopTierMailer offers members an option to view emails right on the website.

TopTierMailer

This is great for people who are new to safelist marketing and aren’t ready to manage an inbox filled with daily emails.

The mailer also offers a unique feature not seen on other viral list builders.

Free Members can send an email to as many members as they have credits every 7 days. Premium Members are set for every 3 days. However, you dont have to send a single email to all the members. For example, if you had 2,000 credits, then you can send 1,000 members an email promoting Website A and the other 1,000 members a completely different email promoting Website B. You are not limited to sending a single email every 3 or 7 days. The limit is on how many emails you can send to EACH MEMBER every 3 or 7 days.

This means if you have multiple sites that you want to promote or if you want to split test different ads you don’t need to wait until your next mailing time to send multiple emails.

Another cool feature at TopTierMailer allows you transfer in your credits earned from Matthew’s traffic exchanges.  I love this feature because if I have read all of my emails and I still want more credits I can just head over to WebBizInsider and surf for more.

TopTierMailer is free but upgraded members also get these benefits:

  • 2,500 Weekly Mailing Credits
  • Get Double Credits for Reading Emails
  • Earn Credits Faster By Reading Emails in Digest Form (1 Email Per Day with all emails in it)
  • Digest Form Email Avoids Inbox Overload (1 Email Per Day with all emails in it)
  • Send Emails Every 3 Days (Free Is 7 Days)
  • Unlimited Banner Impressions (No Credits Needed)
  • Random Referrals Added To Your Downline (Yearly Membership Only)
  • Earn 50% Commissions (Free Is 10%)

The yearly membership is available immediately after joining.

While TopTierMailer has been online for about 2 weeks the mailer just opened a few days ago.  I sent my first email yesterday.  So far I have received 112 hits and 4 sign-ups.  Not bad for my first email.  I will continue to track my results and will be sharing my stats on my blog every month.

With nearly 3,000 members and 100 new ones joining every day TopTierMailer is definitely the place to be right now.  That’s a lot of active members and the perfect audience to be advertising to.  To say that I am excited for the future of TopTierMailer would be an understatement.  I am definitely looking forward to everything TopTierMailer has to offer.

The Best Safelists for April 2012

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Safelist marketing is a waste of time!

Ok, now that the April Fools joke is out of the way…

Hello and welcome to April!

Lots of good stuff to report this month so let’s get right to it.

First is a new safelist that was launched last week by my friend Anderson Goncalves.  It’s called Genie Mailer.  The site is brand new so there are not a lot of members yet but they are giving away free upgrades until they reach 500 members.  I spoke with Anderson this morning and he said they are just past 400 members.  If you join today you should still have time to lock in your free upgrade.  Click here to join.

I’m a big dummy.  I realized last month that I had been making some mistakes with a few popular mailers.  The first was Active Safelist.  I noticed last month that Active Safelist was ranked way at the bottom of my list with 0 sign-ups.  It’s a popular safelist and I submit there every day so that didn’t seem right to me.  I checked my ad and noticed I was using an old tracking link from almost 3 years ago.  Oops!  I updated it with my current tracking link so hopefully I should start seeing some better results there soon.

I also messed up with List Bonus but not as bad.  List Bonus is one of the very best mailers out there but I noticed over the last few months that it had been slipping in my rankings.  I try to maintain upgraded memberships at all of my safelists and viral list builders to keep everything fair but it turns out I was never upgraded at List Bonus.  Oops!  I grabbed their 1-year upgrade and now I am starting to see the full potential of this site.  Unfortunately I didn’t do this until 2 weeks ago so this month’s stats are going to be a little bit off.  I guess it says a lot though that even with a free membership List Bonus has been able to compete with all of my upgraded ones.

Now let’s get to the stats…

Here’s how it works.  Every day I send emails promoting a series of squeeze pages for my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics on 30-40 different safelists and viral list builders.  I use a link tracking service which shows me how many hits I receive from each site as well as how many new subscribers I received.  As I mentioned earlier I do have upgraded memberships on most of these sites which often allows me to send my ads to more members and more often.  I also spend about an hour each day clicking for enough credits to send my ads to as many people as I can as often as possible.

Hits Unique Signups Ratio

Viral List Builder Plus 1501 52.00% 4 0.27%
EZ Profit List 236 70.00% 3 1.27%

Total March sign-ups from all mailers (including those not listed here): 127

Not a bad month.  The top 3 seems pretty stable.  List Joe seems to bounce up and down in the rankings every month.  I’m not sure why that is.  Viral List Builder Plus also dropped from it’s top spot where it had consistently ranked for the last few months.  No idea why.  Everything else looks just about right though.

So ends another fun filled safelist ranking report.  Keep in mind that these are my own personal stats and they are based on my own efforts.  Your results will probably be different from my own.  I provide these stats every month to give you a starting point for some new safelists and viral list builders that you can try.  The only way to know which sites work best for you is to track your own stats.  You can get the same link tracker that I use for free from TE Toolbox.

A Frightening 24 Hours

Author: Jerry Iannucci

It is now Tuesday night.

Monday morning started out normal enough.

Answering emails, doing my daily submissions.. a little bit of surfing.  At 3:00 I was hanging out at Traffic Exchange Live like I normally do.

At 3:30 I checked my email and noticed two messages from a very well known payment processor that I use every day.  I don’t want to say the name here on my blog because I am still a little bit afraid.

The first email was titled “Your xxxx Debit MasterCard has been deactivated” and the second one said “Your account has been limited until we hear from you”.

My first thought was that this was another phishing scam.  I get at least one email a day with subjects like that.  They are usually pretty obvious.  Especially when you notice that the link they want you to click is nothing like what it appears to be.

But this one was real.

“After a recent review of your account activity, it has been determined that
you are in violation of (our) Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales
/ offers on http://www.autoresponderprofitsystem.com/.

Therefore, your account has been limited temporarily.”

Uh-oh.

I checked my account and sure enough I could login but sending or receiving money was no longer an option.

I was out of business!

Earlier that day I had received an email from them stating that someone had attempted to do a charge back on an upgrade they purchased from me way back in January.

“We recently received a complaint regarding merchandise that was never
received or received significantly not as described.

We are contacting you to let you know that we will not be continuing this
investigation because this complaint was filed 45 or more days after the
original transaction date. However, we reserve the right for the next 180
days to begin an investigation if we later determine that this complaint
should be examined.”

No big deal, or so I thought until they decided to exercise that right to investigate my account.

I am very careful about the things I promote.  I stay away from the pyramids schemes and ponzi schemes and most business opportunities in general.  My Autoresponder Profit System site isn’t any of these things but from an outsider’s perspective it may appear that way.

I did everything I could to plead my case to the anonymous person who held my life in their hands.  I even created an account for them to login and see everything a member would see to verify that nothing was violating their terms of use.

The problem is that you only have so much control in these situations.  I had a similar experience years ago with Google Adwords (I don’t mind saying their name here).  I had a very lucrative keyword business that was earning me a lot of money until one day they decided that one of my hundreds of campaigns violated their rules.  “Which rule?”  “Here is a copy of our rules.”  “Can you be more specific?”  “Here is a copy of our rules”.  “I’m not breaking any of those rules.”  “You are suspended forever.  Have a nice day”.

When Adwords shut me down I had a very hard time starting over.  Without my primary payment processor (and all the money I left in my account) it was going to be even harder this time.

Almost exactly 24 hours after having my account suspended I received this email:

“We have further reviewed your case and determined that your account is
currently not in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. As such, the
limitation on your account has been lifted.”

Oh yeah!

But wow was that scary!

Lesson learned… don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.  It’s time to do a sizable withdrawal and start keeping my money in a real bank.  Also, I probably need to start looking at other payment options.  That fact that my entire business can be shut down for 24 hours because of one idiot is not something I want to deal with ever again.

The Best Safelists for March 2012

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello March!

It’s time once again to dig into my stats and discover which safelists and viral list builders are producing the best results right now.

I can’t think of any major updates to announce this month.

In fact, looking at my stats I am thinking it might be time to shake things up.  I noticed I had about a dozen sites that I regularly submit to produce 0 to 1 sign-ups for me last month.  Some of these sites have been around for a very long time and have produced good results for me in the past.  In most cases I have an abundance of credits so I don’t even need to read the emails (which probably means other people have an abundance of credits too and aren’t reading mine).  It only takes me about 30 seconds to login to each one every day and submit my ad but over a month that adds up to about 15 minutes per site.  Times a dozen sites and I am wasting a lot of time.

So would anybody like to make some suggestions on some replacement sites?  There are probably a bunch of new sites that I haven’t tried because they look too new.  There’s also probably a bunch of old sites that I stopped using but should maybe revisit.  In any case if you know of any decent safelists or viral list builders that are working well for you but you don’t see me posting here please feel free to leave your affiliate link in the comments below.

Ok, time for the stats!

If this is your first time here I will explain how this works.  Every day I submit ads to 30-40 different safelists and viral list builders promoting my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics. I use a free link tracking service to tell me how many hits I receive from each site as well as how many new subscribers I received.  I then take all of that data and share it here on my blog every month so that you can see which safelists and viral list builders are working best for me.

I like to point out that I do have upgraded memberships on most of these sites and I spend about an hour every reading enough emails to allow me to send to the maximum number of members every day.  These are are my own personal stats and your results may vary.

Not my best month but my top sites are still producing great results for me.

Interesting to see that Viral List Builder Plus is not listed at all on the List Hoopla rankings.  It has been in my top 3 for the last few months.  Definitely a must have viral list builder.

That’s all for now.  As always I like to point out that these stats are the result of my own marketing efforts and your results may vary.  I provide these stats to show people which safelists and viral list builders are currently working best for me.  The sites that work best for you might be something entirely different but the only way to find out is to track your own ads.  You can get the same free link tracker that I use when you join TE Toolbox.

I do love me some personal branding.

Why?

This is a very competitive business.  Anything you can do to give yourself an advantage and make your sites get noticed will make a big difference.  One of the easiest ways to do this is to personalize your business with your own unique brand.

Your unique personal brand can be your own picture.

It doesn’t get any more unique than that.

The guys at TimTech know this and have been championing the idea of personal branding for years.  Now they have taken personal branding to a new level with the relaunch of their ThumbVu traffic exchange.

The new ThumbVu design is clean and fresh and it offers a new concept in traffic exchange surfing.  Instead of viewing random websites for hours on end ThumbVu members are now presented with a list of other members giving you the option of choosing who’s website you want to view next.

This is a great opportunity to connect your personal brand with whatever you are promoting.

Members also have the ability to leave feedback on your pages.

ThumbVu Feedback

Do you think having this kind of feedback displayed every time your site is shown will help you get more sign-ups?

You bet it will.

Lots of people will be flocking to ThumbVu this week to check out all of the new changes.  If you are already a member now would be the perfect time to login and assign some credits to your sites (and to your personal brand).

If you’re not already a member of ThumbVu… what are you waiting for?

Keeping Track of Your TE Commissions

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello and Happy Sunday!

About a year and a half ago I did a video walk through of a new site at the time called TE Command Post.

You can check out the video here:
http://www.getrichwithjerry.com/video-review-of-my-te-command-post/

TE Command Post continues to be one of the most useful services for traffic exchanges surfers that I have ever used.  When you are a member of dozens of traffic exchanges like I am it becomes extremely helpful to keep track of all of your credits on all of your traffic exchanges with just one click.

This past week TE Command Post added a new feature which makes it an even more invaluable tool… the ability to track all of the commissions traffic exchanges owe you.

Check this out:http://www.mytecommandpost.comAccording to TE Command Post I had over $400 in commissions owed to me that I had not yet received.  Now some of these sites do pay monthly and I just have not been paid yet this month.  List Surfing is a good example of this.  But many other sites require you to login and manually request your commissions be paid.  If you don’t know you are owed commissions you never get paid.

Just another reason why I believe TE Command Post is an essential tool for all Internet marketers who are promoting with traffic exchanges.

If you are not already a member then sign-up, select your traffic exchanges, and find out immediately who owes you money.

The Best Safelists for February 2012

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Welcome back!

The calendar on my wall says it is February but the thermometer is making it feel more like May.  Regardless of what the weather may feel like outside it’s time for another fun filled blog post revealing my top safelists and viral list builders.

I didn’t spot any major new launches last month but I am happy to report that Email-Hog is back up and running!  I held off on sending an email about the relaunch until I could verify that everything was up and working again.  Hopefully we will see them ranking well again next month.  If you were a member before the site went down a few months ago you may still be able to retrieve your old account data by filling out the form on this page: http://email-hog.com/recover.php

That’s it for the news.   Let’s get to the stats!

Every day I promote a number of squeeze pages using safelists and viral list builders which give away free copies of my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics. I use a free link tracker to determine how much traffic my mailings generate as well as how many new subscribers I receive.  I then compile all of that data and share the results here on my blog each month to show you which safelists and viral list builders are bringing me the best results.

I always like to point out that I do have upgraded memberships at most of these sites which usually allows me to send my ads more often.  My ads are also very targeted to other safelist members which does help to increase the response rate.  Your results my vary.

Congrats to Viral List Builder Plus for making it to the top of the list!

A big thank you to List Hoopla for recommending Your EZ List to me.  It’s not the sexiest list builder out there.  In fact it’s about as bare bones as it gets.  But so far the results have been excellent.

Looking at the stats I also want to mention that I recently let my upgrade at List Joe expire.  It’s always been a relatively expensive upgrade which was well worth the price about a year ago but with all the new viral list builders it’s effectiveness had been going down.  Oddly, now that I am a free member again my results have been going back up.  If this keeps up I may have to spring for another upgrade.

That’s it for this month.  Keep in mind that these stats are the result of my own marketing efforts and your results may vary.  These stats are only provided as a guide to show you what is currently working best for me.  What works best for you might be something entirely different but you will never know unless you are tracking your ads.  You can get the same free link tracker that I use when you join TE Toolbox.

The Best Safelists for January 2012

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy New Year!

Another year down and somehow I have managed to keep these safelist stats coming in every month.  It’s been almost two and a half years!  So I just wanted to thank you all for your support over the years.

I think the big news from last month was the launch of the new “List Hoopla” ranking service from the creator of Traffic HooplaList Hoopla ranks the top safelists and viral list builders every week.  How does that compare with what I do here?  List Hoopla uses a complex formula comparing traffic, conversions, bounce rate, and even how much they were paid in commissions.  I simply go by the number of sign-ups I received.  Not very scientific but I am a simple man.  While our rankings may not be identical comparing both lists should give you the best sampling of what safelists and viral list builders are producing the best results right now.

If you would like to receive your own List Hoopla page filled with your own affiliate IDs you can sign-up at the bottom of this page:
http://listhoopla.com/r.cgi/260

The top ranked site on List Hoopla this week is YourEZlist.  As you can see YourEZlist doesn’t appear on my list at all.  That’s because I wasn’t a member until a few days ago.  I’m in now and I look forward to comparing my stats next month.

Email Hog was hacked.  Most of their databases were corrupted so site has been down since mid December.  Quite a bummer since I had just joined and was already getting very good results.  They hope to have everything up and running again by Jan 15.

State of the Art Mailer has a referral contest going on until they reach 20,000 members.  I mention this only because I am in second place and I want to win!  Oh, they are also a great mailer and well worth the cost of the upgrade.  Now go join!

Ok, time for my stats…

Here’s how it works.  Every day I promote a series of squeeze pages for my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics on 30-40 different safelists and viral list builders.  I use a link tracking service that shows me how many hits I receive from each mailer as well as how many new subscribers I received.  I should point out that I do have upgraded memberships on most of these sites which often allow me to send my ads to more members and more often.  I also spend time every day clicking emails for credits which allow me to send my ads to the maximum number of people as often as possible.  Your results may vary.

Kind of a crazy month.  I think I will let the numbers speak for themselves.

Don’t forget that these are my own personal stats based on my own marketing efforts.  I provide these stats only to show you what safelists and viral list builders are currently working best for me and to give you some suggestions for new mailers to try.  Your results may be completely different from mine.  The only way to determine which sites work best for you is to track your own stats.  You can get the same link tracker that I use for free from TE Toolbox.

Traffic Hoopla has been one of the largest and more successful ranking services and downline builders for the traffic exchange and safelist industry since 2002.  That’s a really long time!

I just got a chance to check out their latest creation called List Hoopla which is dedicated entirely to safelists and viral list builders.

You can check it out here:

As you probably know I post my own safelist rankings here on my blog every month.

What is the difference between List Hoopla ranking and my own?

According to the Hoopla website:

“Overall Rankings are determined by a composite score from raw hits, primary conversion rate, secondary conversion rate, new visitors, bounce rate, unique hits, unique percentage, and commissions paid.”

While I just rank by the number of sign-ups I received.

Which is better?  Well, it doesn’t really matter.  The purpose is to find new advertising sources that you are not already using and then track them to find out which ones work best for you.  I even spotted a few new mailers on the List Hoopla site where I was not already a member.  I just joined them and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of results I get next month.

List Hoopla is also a downline builder which is something I don’t offer (yet).  So if you join make sure you fill in your referral IDs so can start building your downlines in the top ranked List Hoopla sites.
